FEED & Detailed Engineering — Instrument Air Package
Overview. Following a utility consumption survey that revealed a deficit in instrument air capacity, the client appointed Rishabh for the FEED and detailed engineering of a new instrument air compressor with auxiliary equipment, including capacity optimization for the desiccant dryer regeneration.
FEED — Scope of Work.
- RFQ package (incl. API 619 datasheet), issuance to approved vendors, bid analysis and purchase recommendations.
- Process: P&ID, Cause & Effect, Operating & Control Philosophy, hydraulic calculations, air receiver sizing, PSV sizing & datasheet, utility list.
- Mechanical & Piping: equipment & process datasheets, line & tie-in schedule, major equipment list, piping general description, GA, preliminary plot plan.
- Electrical: load analysis, power consumption, SLD, area classification, grounding, power distribution, emergency/backup power philosophy, generator sizing, simulations.
- Instrumentation & Control: control/instrumentation/shutdown/fire & gas philosophies, I/O list, instrument index & specs, custody metering, power control room details, preliminary instrumentation BOM.
- Civil & Structural: general description, geotechnical report review, preliminary BOM summary.
Detailed Engineering — Scope.
- Preparation of procurement & construction requisition packages, site surveys, review of deliverables with the client.
- Process: diagrams & lists, design & specifications, calculations & manuals.
- Civil & Structural: specifications & criteria, drawings & layouts, detailed designs.
- Mechanical & Piping: plans & layouts, specifications & details, equipment & supports.
- Electrical: drawings & layouts, schematics & diagrams, specifications & manuals.
- Instrumentation & Control: diagrams & layouts, specifications & indexes, schedules & schematics.
